I apologize for the delay in updating this web site. There are many reasons I could
offer, but I will go with two prevailing themes. The first, unlike some, I don’t do this
for a living. I have a bonafide “day” job which drains the life out of me. Which
means: I’m fairly dead to the world when I get home. This fact also impedes my
ability to get out and see indie bands as much as I would like too.
My second reason is simple. When I created this web site, I had a talented writer
and photographer who was terrific at supplying me with killer photos and stories.
I don’t have that anymore. So Indietude moves on. The only exception is Sheena
Metal and I am very happy to include her writings on this website.
I was hoping that other newbie writers and photog’s who wanted to hone their
skills would want to contribute. I was wrong. Those writers and photographer's
now publish their stuff on Facebook for only their friends to see and Facebook
to own the rights to. I don't expect this method to change.
Indietude is a home grown operation and like struggling indie artists, we are coping
with both the lack of funds and the lack of willing writers and photographers. But
little by little, we will continue to move forward. The invitation still stands for young
writers and photographers across the land and artists too. E-mail your info to me
and I will check it out.
In the future, I will try to provide timely quarterly updates to Indietude. This will
include ‘mini’ updates. I will also try to get out to the clubs and see more artists
in 2010. If any of you have any suggestions and / or information, please e-mail
the info to me and I will try to check it out. Photographs may be sporadic if at all.
This issue will be a re-cap of 2009. A number of great indie artists stopped in L.A.
and it would be a travesty not to share the experience with you. Plus there were a
few killer CD that are still worth checking out. I apologize to two indie artists who
sent me their CD's for review. Somehow, I've lost them in my pile of stuff, but I did
find one of them - Jason Yudoff (whose review is in this issue). I am actively looking
for the other artist's CD.
Peace to All
